Dad Of The Month!
Matt "THE LAW" Lindland
Where do you live? We live on a 40 acre ranch in Eagle Creek, OR. Its a great place to raise kids. We play outside all the time. Horses, Quads, tractors and we have horse we love to play with. When you live out here like we do there are plenty of chores it teaches kids how to work hard and be responsible.
What is your profession? I have been a wrestling coach as I was training for the Olympics after the Sydney games where I won a silver medal I started fighting MMA professionally. I am still one of the top middle weight fighters in the world. I also run a gym and have a clothing company I manage and train professional athletes.
What are your hobbies/interests?
I enjoy being home working on the ranch with the kids. We also like playing on the ranch riding horses and quads. When I get some free time I enjoy fishing.

What do you drive? I drive everything; tractors, cats, quads, bikes. I have a Harley soft tail custom, but my daily ride is a 1 ton GMC.
What are you reading? I always have about three or four books I am working on at the same time I just finished 15 leadership principles and Ronald Regan by Larry W. Dennis, In This Corner by Peter Heller and I am almost done reading vintage Jesus a second time by Mark Driscoll.
What music are you listening to? It depends on the mood normally I listen to talk radio but I love Steve earl, johny Cash.

What's the last movie you saw?
Batman Dark night Great film.
How long have you been married? 17 years.
Kids names and ages? James 16 and Robin 14.
Describe your favorite family vacation? Hillo Hawaii I was training with BJ Penn and we played the rest of the time. The other great vacation was when we went to a friends 5000 acre ranch in Sonoma Ca, and our friends couldn’t make it we had the whole place to our self and we were totally secluded from everyone just me my wife and the kids and we hunted turkeys fished, dove for abalone and 4x4ing.
Your thoughts on being a Dad?
I love it. I always wanted to be a dad. It’s everything I thought it would be. I got it all a super buddy dude and a little princess.
How do you juggle family and work?
I always try to remember what is the most important God and family.
Everything I do is for my wife and kids.
What's your favorite thing to do with your kids? Just being together sometimes, I have to remember it not always about getting things done and slow down and just enjoy each others company.
What advice would you give to new or soon-to-be dads? They grow up quick.. Teach them to love God. Have fun and laugh together and laugh at your self.
What lessons have you learned from your own dad? My dad taught me how to be self reliant.
How have you changed since becoming a Dad?
I am more successful. My kids and my wife make me want to be a better person.
