Winter Wonderland!

Wow, it’s been a few days since my last post.  We have been experiencing an arctic blast of weather like we haven’t seen in decades.  Our house has almost 9″ of snow, and it’s still snowing.  In fact, it’s been snowing for 2 days with hardly a break, more like ski mountain weather, rather than Portland metro weather.

I drove the family over to my parents house today, and we saw very few other cars on the roads.  The roads are all covered in ice, or chewed up and snowy.  There is no pavement to be found.  That’s great news for the kids who like to go sledding, but not so fun if you have to get somewhere for work.

My business has been tremendously slow, which has been very frustrating.  The only saving grace is that I have been able to stay home and enjoy the snow with my family.  The silver lining if you will.

We are supposed to get 3-4 more inches on top of the near foot we already have, the higher elevations in the west hills already have over 14″ of snow.  This makes the third year in a row that we have had meaningful snowfall that accumulated.  Must be all that global warming the environmentalists have been drumming into the mainstream media.  It amazes me that actual science is ignored with the global warming crowd, and the mainstream media will just run with something without actually doing any research.  But, that’s the topic for another post.

In the meantime, enjoy the snow and keep warm.  I hope you are able to take advantage of this winter weather by spending time with your family.

Looks like it might be a white Christmas after all.  :)
