Welcome Haley Jane!

I am writing this from the hospital as my wife gave birth to our second child, a beautiful baby girl earlier this morning.  Haley was born at 4:50am this morning, all 7 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches of her.  She is very healthy and so is her mother. 

I was thinking about our son as well.  I have been wishing (at times) that he would “hurry up” and get bigger so we can play catch, go fishing, bicycling, etc.  But after seeing Haley, it made me appreciate how fast he has grown up already.  It really put things into perspective for me.  Enjoy each step along the way.  They grow up so fast.

So we are going on very little sleep over the last 24 hours, and I am always amazed at how strongly that affects me.  Things get kind of surreal for a while.  I am about to take a nap, so I will write more tomorrow.  Quite a day, a birthday for a welcome new member of our family.  Thank heaven for little boys and little girls.
