There are a couple new videos up on the forum. One is about not sheltering your children from life, and encouraging them to play with and experiment with things that are considered “dangerous” in this soft society we live in. It’s a good video and I encourage you to watch it.
The other video is about [...]

The other video is about how our educational system really stifles creativity. “Creativity,” as in having an original thought that you can then develop. The speaker argues that creativity is as important as literacy. He also goes on to describe how our current educational system came into being, as there wasn’t any formal, government sponsored educational system before the 19th century. It came about with the advent of industrialism, and still today has those same goals, which in many cases are not relevant anymore. Almost without exception you have mathematics and language first, and the arts are last. That would make sense if you are trying to train workers, as they were at the advent of the industrial age, but we need to seriously re-evaluate what we consider to be valuable and intelligent these days. He does a good job explaining his position, which I agree with. Good food for thought.

There is also the 1st of 3 articles that I wrote for the “Articles” section of Dadsworld.com. I went through my journal and compiled all the notes I took during our 3 baby classes, Basics of Babycare, Childbirth Preparation and Breastfeeding. You should find some good information if you are a new or soon-to-be Dad, so I encourage you to check it out. The other 2 articles will be added to the site soon.

You will notice that we have the image of the new t-shirt on the homepage now, which I am very proud of. They come in black, chocolate brown and military green. All 3 colors look great with the eagle logo and “Dad for Life” slogan. Again today, a man asked me about my shirt. I told him I got it through a website that promotes involved Dads and he thought that was a good idea. So do I.

Have a great day and thanks for supporting Dadsworld.com!

Be sure to register on the main Dadsworld page if you have not done so. Our newsletter is only accessable to members, and you get into our free T-shirt drawing! The next drawing takes place this Saturday morning, March 1st. Who’s going to win???

I have been seeing a lot of other blogs pick up our entries lately, which is really cool. One blog that wrote about us recently is http://www.insidesocal.com/lamama/ She talks about work and being a Mom in Los Angeles. La mama, good title. She posted about us on February 18th, so go check it out sometime.

We have been featured on an NFL blog, a truckdriving blog, an allergy products blog, a financial blog, a health and childbirth blog and several others. Blogs are interesting tools for business as they are unique content that the webcrawlers love, and they update frequently.

More to come later, have a great day!
