SNOW!
14 December 2008 in UncategorizedThe weather forecast for today was up to 3″ of snow, which my wife and I both hoped would come to pass. We woke up this morning to heavy snow coming down, and an accumulation of over 3″. We were excited, as we both love the snow. We got the kids up, ate breakfast then hopped in the truck to drive around and look at the winter wonderland. We ended up going to my wife’s parents house to go sledding down the hill she loved as a kid. We both took our son down multiple times, then headed over to my brothers house for a little snowball fight action and some visting.
As the evening came, my wife took our son for a walk around town to admire the Christmas lights in the snow. I know it’s a pain for many workers and people trying to get around without adequate vehicles and winter driving skills, but WE love it. Having lived in a climate that sees regular snow, and a lot of it, it’s nice to get it here once in a while.
Snow makes my wife and I feel the magic of the season, just like we were kids again. I go to the mountain to ski regularly, but to get snow at home during the holidays is special. I hope you don’t have too many hassles with the weather where you are, but a white Christmas is certianly fun for the kids… and some of us adults too!
