November is here!

Where does the time go?  It’s November 2009 already.  Things have been busy lately, as anyone with 2 children & running a business (or two) can understand.

We will have the free t-shirt drawing this Thursday, so be sure to check back and see if you won.  If you are not yet a member, be sure to go to the main page of www.dadsworld.com and sign up!

Halloween was fun for our family.  We took ur son and daugter out to a few of our friends and neighbors homes, as well as walking uptown in our little community to go to the stores.  With all the concern about the swine flu (H1N1, as the government now calls it) we didn’t want to go to too many places.  Regular use of hand sanitizer is becoming part of our lifestyle!

A friend of ours is a doctor, and he said the biggest things you can do are to wash your hands regularly, and NOT touch your face.  (That’s a tough one with little kids.)  He thought that a high percentage of colds and flu would not be transeferred if we could just do those two things.  I find myself touching my own face more than I would like as well, so I know my 3 year old and 1 year old have no chance at that.

Football season is in full swing, and my Oregon Ducks are looking good.  A 47-20 thrashing of USC last weekend left me feeling fantastic.  Autzen stadium is a great setting for a bigtime college football game, and it’s usually very kind to the Ducks…not so much to their opponents.

Real estate has picked up for my business lately, with 3 closings in October, 8 listings and several buyers that we are working with.  Hopefully the market will continue to recover next year, and we will be well on our way out of this mess.  I’ve been in the business for 15 years, and these past 3 were the toughest I’ve ever faced.  I do have reservations on the recovery, with all the money the government is spending.  We will just have to see how it plays out.

Have a great day and thanks for supporting involved Dads!
