Nice to see a Real Family on Television

My wife and I watched the final of American Gladiators this evening and were happy to see a local Lady, Monica, win the whole thing.  We were rooting for her from the start of the show, and had no idea (until tonight) that she was from Milwaukie.  Cool.  Her attitude and dominance throughout the competition was outstanding.  What really struck me was the great relationship with her twin daughters and her husband.  It’s about time to see a happy, intact family make a mainstream television program.

You get so used to seeing families portrayed as selfish, disfunctional and broken, it’s nice when a small dose of the good reality makes its’s way onto T.V.  What a breath of fresh air that Monica is for us.  Congratulations!  :)

Tomorrow is our son’s weekly swim class.  He has been swimming since he was 9 months old, and has only missed one class in a year.  It’s really neat to see the progression of his skills and his confidence around water continue to improve.  It’s a joy to swim with him, and guide him through learning all the skills required to be a confident swimmer.  Being a competitive water skier myself, it’s really important to me that my children are competent and enjoy themselve’s around water.

I hope you are having a great day, and I wish you and your family the best!
