Membership updates and other thoughts
12 April 2008 in UncategorizedWell, a lot has happened since my last post. Sorry for the long dry spell!
My wife and I found out that our child due in August is going to be a Girl! We are extremely excited. Since we already have a son, adding a girl to our family just enhances and completes the dynamic. I am very happy to have a daughter! I went out and bought her a poster that has a pink castle with butterflies, birds, fairies, princess’s, flowers and even a unicorn. We are going to be painting her room soon, using light green, bright pink and antique white colors. I bought the trim and paint today at Home Depot. Since my son has a really detailed Batman bank, I got our daughter a Wonder Woman bank to match. Fun stuff! I love having children, watching them grow and learn, and seeing what things they get into.
My son is on a path with similar interests as me so far- cars, planes and animals. I am excited to see what our little girl gravitates toward.

We took the boat out today for a ride, and I even got a wakeboarding set in. It was over 78 degrees today, quite a change from recent 50’s and rain. It was nice to see all the boats, motorcycles and convertibles out and about for a change. The air was nice, although the water was a very chilly 51 degrees! It hurts to put your hands and feet in water that cold.
Our dog, a 13 year old whippet had heart failure again a few days ago. We took him to the heart specialist and to make a long story short, he is doing much better. He is still eating well, he’s active, perky, and very interested in what’s going on. His heart is not working well though, so I believe the end is coming. Everyday we get to spend with him is a gift. As long as he is happy and comfortable, we will continue to treat him. He has been a GREAT dog. We got him the week we returned home from our honeymoon in 1995, and he has been an integral part of our family ever since. The only regret I have is that our children won’t get to grow up with such a fantastic dog. Our son absolutely loves him, but we doubt our daughter will ever get to meet him. At this rate, he will be gone long before August. Until then, every day is a gift.
